Hurricane Karl May Follow Jeanne to U.S. but Currently is No Threat

Miami, FL (HDW) September 18, 2004 – Hurricane Karl is currently about 1,075 miles to the West of the Cape Verde Islands and it is moving west-northwest at 13 miles per hour. Currently the National Hurricane Center of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports that it is no threat to land.

Hurricane Karl’s winds are over 110 miles per hour with even stronger gusts. Hurricane level winds extend out 25 miles from Karl, while tropical storm level winds extend outward up to 115 miles from the center.
